The team at Rhema Tzedakah gathered ourselves and set off to Mepe in the Volta Region on Saturday, December 9, 2023, responding to the call for humanitarian assistance for the community which had catastrophic aftermath of the Akosombo Dam Spillage. organising a comprehensive outreach program aimed at providing medical aid, essential supplies, and support to the affected residents. Mepe, like many communities in the Volta Region, faced significant challenges following the dam spillage, which resulted in widespread displacement. On the day of the outreach program, the medical team and volunteers at RTF arrived in Mepe fully equipped and ready to undertake the mapped out activities. Activities Undertaken: 1. Medical Screenings and Aid: RTF conducted medical screenings and provided free medications to 122 individuals (21 males and 101 females), of varying ages. 2. Donation of Essential Supplies: RTF donated clothes, shoes, bags, and other essential items to the community members. 3. Health Talks and Evangelism: RTF facilitated health talks and engaged in evangelism activities to promote health awareness and spiritual well-being among the community members.
